upgraded from 3 to 5 and have a few probs

two very slight problems that I'm sure anyone can help me with pretty quickly.

1. my >| button on my 45 button haupauge remote stopped working. I checked and its mapped to the super fast forward in sage but nothing happens when I press it.

2. I now have sort of a slight staticy riple or noise a the very top of some chanels. just on the top 1/8" of the screen. not too noticable until its on a contrasting color then it drives you insane. never had it before the upgrade so I dont see how my decoders would be at fault. suggestions?

more questions to come I'm sure :P I appreciate the help everyone.

Did you select the 45 button Hauppauge remote in Detaield Setup -> Commands -> Remote Config? What does it show when you use that button while in DS -> Commands -> Show Command?

If it displays "Skip Fwd #2", then go to DS -> Customize & check the FF & REW times.

That's most like the closed caption data in the airing. Use DS -> Multimedia -> Aspect Ration Settings to adjust the video so that part of the video isn't visible. (Normally, it wouldn't be seen on a TV because that part of the signal isn't displayed on the screen.)

Thanks. that fixed the video problem but my remote is still funny. its mapped to ff 2 (f5+) thats what sage tells me, and the ff times are entered correctly. still nothing happens when I hit that button.

About the only thing I can suggest right now is to try using FF2 via the same keystroke on your keyboard. If the Show Command display is showing that the button is sending a keystroke that is assigned to the FF2 command, then the remote part of this seems like it is operating within acceptable parameters.

If using FF2 from the keyboard doesn't work on the playback screen, then have you done any customizations? Will FF2 work if you assign a different keystroke?
