Need help with an error with the mpeg2 video setup
Hi, I downloaded the trial version. When I try to watch live tv, it gave me this error.
"There was an error with the mpeg2 video setup Failed connecting video stream to the overlay mixer Errcode=0x80040217" After prompting this error, I could only hear sound but can't see the video. I have Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti 200, PVR 250,use Power DVD 5 and get tv signal from s-video from my Dish receiver output ports. By the way the latest trial version I downloaded only gave me 10 days rather than the 15. thanks.

I guess you set SageTV to use the cyberlink video codec since you said you own PowerDVD5. You might want to try a different codec. Does the Intervideo(Hauppauge) codec that comes with the PVR250 work? If not you might try downloading and installing the newest Intervideo codec from the Hauppauge PVR software site. Also if you haven't touched you're SageTV codec settings yet then you should try and manually select the Intervideo nonCSS video decoder. You can set the video decoder from Setup> Detailed Setup> Video tab.

I had a similiar problem with an inability to play sage video streams on a client.
After searching the web I came across a support note at Dell that stated how Microsoft netmeeting could retain control of the overlay preventing DVD playback. I tried starting netmeeting and then closing it and it solved my problem. Most likely netmeeting had crashed on me and the overlay was still 'locked'. |

Thanks for all the replies.
I can see the video now. It's kinda strange that it worked itself out. Actually I did nothing to sagetv but simply shut it down. The next day, I opened it to try to see if the same error poped up again, but it never did. PowerDVD is still the decoder. Thanks
