Hauppauge PVR-USB2 - can't change recording quality.
i'm using the latest version 5 with Hauppauge PVR-USB2 on WinXP SP2. when i change the recording quality in the Detailed Setup, it doesn't reflect the new setting when i record a new show.
example, i set it to DVD ELP. i record a couple minutes of a show, then stop. open it in an external player, Media Player Classic. i look at the properties of the file and it says, 720x480 4500kb/s. then i set the recording quality to DVD SP. and the properties of a new recording was the same. no matter what i change the setting to, it still records at the DVD ELP quality. i have to use the Hauppauge Tweaker to change the settings, which is a hassle. i had this bug in the last beta of version 4. how can i fix this.? thanx.! |

Did you ever follow up with SageTV about your previous post on the same subject?

But the question is: did you file a bug report with SageTV? If it is a problem in SageTV, then they need to hear from users so they can look into it.
A forum post is useful in terms of seeing if anyone else has run into the same issue, but it doesn't tell SageTV that there is a problem. - Andy

For anyone wondering how to submit a bug report:
Every beta release has a link to the bug report page after the release notes, plus the main forum page has links to submit a bug report and/or to contact tech support. Also, the FAQ entry explaining how to enable debug logging tells where to email the logs to help SageTV track down problems. During betas, my sig lines have a link to the bug report page. And, there is always a link for tech support in my sig. - Andy
