Audio Prob-SPDIF,Revo
I'm having a major problem with my audio. When I watch a recording with Dolby sound (which is most of them), it works fine. My receiver clicks, and displays that it is getting a 2.0 or 3.2 or whatever feed. The problem is that once the show ends, I have no sound except for another recording in Dolby. No windows sounds, no music, no anything else.
My setup is a Revo7.1 with SPDIF to a receiver. I just bought the Purevideo decoder, but this seems to happen with any decoder. I think the problem might be with AC3Filter? I'm using version 1.01a. What settings should I check? When this happens, I can go into the sound control panel, click Voice, click Test Hardware, and about 75% through that, my reciever will click and I'll have sounds again. The only other way is to reboot. It just seems like something isn't giving up control of the sound the card. And I think that something might be AC3Filter. Thoughts? Thanks! |

Do you really still need to use the AC3 filter? Nvidia via spdif works perfectly for me. You have to get the purevideo options screen up then select that you are using a receiver (over headphones etc) and a SPDIF option appears. Select it and you're good to go.
Seems to switch between regular stereo stuff recorded on my pvr-350 and HD 5.1 stuff recorded OTA on my A180without a hitch. Same for DVD's. My receiver has clear indicators so I can always tell when its working. EDIT: Of course be sure to select the nvida audio decoder for mpeg2 audio decoder filter on both the video/audio and DVD setup screens. I have noticed it doesn't work for me on DVD's unless I specifically select it (as opposed to default). peace . . . Quote:

Are you using SageMC16x9 stv by any chance? This sounds very similar to a problem I ran into last year:
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...&postcount=801 The fix was to delete the SageMC16x9 sound files. Greg
