PVR-150 IR Blaster Stopped Changing Channels
Hey All,
Been having an extremely frustrating experience with my Hauppauge PVR-150 since moving it to a new HTPC. The new HTPC is based on an nVidia MB with an AMD2000+CPU. This CPU is a 64bit version however, I am still using the 32bit version of XP. Anyhow, had an initial problem getting video capture to work on the card. A new beta driver was supplied to me on this post: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17447 -- this new driver solved my video problem...and for about a week, I have been happily watching and recording TV. Over the last few days, channel changing via the Hauppauge IR Blaster has become an issue. First, I noticed that not all of the digits would be sent via a channel change (e.g. change channel to 427 and maybe on only the 42 get sent). Tooled around with positioning the IR Blaster and things seemed to get better until yesterday. Now, channels do not change at all. The IR Blaster is certainly working as I can see it emit light. I am using the latest drivers from the Hauppauge website. I have even tried rolling back to older drivers. I know that the code I am using for my STB is correct as it is the same code as in my old system. I have run (and rerun) the IRBlast and IRBlastWiz applications and cannot even get the STB to Power On/Off with the code I know is correct (#28 for an ExpressVu 3100). I have tried ALL the other codes as well. As I mentioned, I can see the IR Blaster emitting light and I have moved this thing all around and even positioned it inside the STB right up against the IR receiver. If I move the 150 back to the old machine (an older AMD 1200+ CPU) I am able to change channels and things work fine (this is a famililar tune if you read my other post above). Sooooo, does anyone know of any new and secret Beta drivers for the Hauppauge IR Blaster that are posted somewhere which may get me back to surfing the couch rather than the web? Or does anyone have any other ideas other than purchase a USB-UIRT? |
