Can't Get rid of Closed Captions In DVD Mode
Everything works great except I get can not turn of the Closed Caption features. Its not Sub-Titles, cause It shows the Music symbols, and the Text is all over the screen.
Currently I'm using the NVDVD Codec. This isn't going through my Xcard either. I took it out, cause the Quality is so good on the FX5600. Not quite as good as the XCard, but Damn close.

Start up your NVDVD player and make sure in the options that any captioning options are turned off. Also when you start the DVD go into the audion options from the DVD menu and make sure it is off there. I had this problem once with 1 DVD and I had to change it there.

Select anything besides Default for the video decoder and it'll fix this, assuming that decoder also works.

I'm having the same problem, but my options for DVD Decoder are default and nVidia. However, the nVidia option doesn't work - I have an ATI AIW so I doubt that they installed the nVidia decoder, and choosing the nVidia option gives me Sage errors.
So, I have 2 options and 1 doesn't work. What do I do now?

Problem solved!
You "just" have to manually add in the definitions for the ATI/CyberLink DirectShow filters. And you also have to make sure that you shut down Sage *before* you even edit the .properties file (IOW, when Sage shuts down it overwrites any changes you made to the properties file, so shut it down, *then* edit). There's a post in the beta discussion entitled: "Can't Use ATI (Cyberlink) Decoder"

Narflex, that didn't work for me. i've got an ati aiw 9600 pro and cyberlink powerdvd installed. i can get dvd's to play in sage with all options "default", but then of course i can not turn off the closed captions.
if i choose specific video (i tried audio, too) decoders instead of 'default' then i get errors and the dvd won't play. basically i get a black screen. any thoughts? i'd love to use sage to play dvd's, instead of powerdvd. -fodder |
