Product Comparison for ATI?
I'm finally looking to upgrade my house to HD. That means two TVs and two client PCs. I'd like to go with the cheapest video card that can deinterlace and scale up to 1080p. The HDTV's will also be used for web surfing but not highend gaming, so I'd like to keep the client cost down.
Does anyone know if there is a product comparison for ATI cards like this one for nVidia cards? Also, does anyone know how important it is to support inverse telecine and bad edit detect for HD content? nVidia only supports this feature on the 7600GT and up. I just don't see it being useful now. thanks, pez |

Be sure 1080p is going to be acceptable for web browsing. I know the text at 1080i on my 57" RPTV is way too small for that. I have to send 720p to it and let the TV scale it in order to use the desktop or web browse.

I have a dell 2405 that's 1920x1200 and have no problem with fonts or web and it great to have the extra 320 pixels for pictures. Is there any reason that a 62" to 73" DLP would have an text viewing issue?

I'm guessing you aren't viewing your monitor from 10 feet away. I should have been more clear earlier. The only issue would be whether or not you could read the font at the distance you'll be sitting from the monitor. I sit roughly 10 feet away from my 57" and there is no way I could use 1080 for desktop or web browsing. It's not really relevant to your question, I just thought I'd bring it up as something to consider when planning your setup.
