MP3 Tag issue
I have just over 1500 songs and they all have proper Artist, Title tags. However, when viewing the Music library some of my titles and artists starts and ends with a box symbol in place of the first and last letter.
I tried deleting the entry in the imported folders, rechecking the MP3 tags in question, moving the Music to a different folder and reimporting them, but I get the same problem again. Any Ideas?

Me too.
Oh, wait... no, I don't. I fixed it by removing the special character from the field. So instead of "Weird Al" Yankovic it's Weird Al Yankovic. Last edited by teknubic; 07-07-2006 at 04:43 PM. |

You could also check with support. If there isn't already a fix for a future version, you could submit a sample song to show what kind of tags aren't getting read properly.

Fixed my problem with mediamonkey. Free and semi-fast when I use the auto tag from Amazon feature.

I had the same problem using MP3Tag to create and mod tags. If you are using that MP3Tag by Florian Heidenreich, go to tools/options/tags/mpeg and set the "write" value to ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 instead of either of the UTF settings. This should fix the problem. If you are using some other program, you can look for a similar type option.
