Dedicated tuner for Placeshifter?

Subject pretty much says it all. I am wondering if there is a way to create a separate tuner and make it available only for placeshifting clients. Reason being is that all my normal tuners are HD, and I want to take a SD capture card and capture the output of a HD sat box and use it for only place shifting. I know there is no way that placeshifting the actual HD material could ever work and be viewable on my connection (256k upstream).

Otherwise, I might just look at a slingbox.

Normally Sage just picks the next available tuner - I'm pretty sure Placeshifter does the same.

If you've got a fast enough server you can Placeshift HD. It'll also look better than Placeshfited SD because the source material has less noise (although you'll be at sub-SD resolutions). You need about a 3.0GHz+ for that.

That'll definitely be supported.

FWIW -- I'm sending OTA HD from my ATI HDTV Wonder card via placeshifting and the quality is (supposedly) pretty darn good. The SageTV machine is a 2.53Ghz 533Mhz bus Intel box. I'm sending via cable modem service through Adelphia and the opposite end (in another timezone) is recieving via DSL from SBC.
