Unhappy Another "MCE Remote doesn't work" thread

I'm sorry to make another one of these but I've read all the others, done the suggestions and it still doesn't work.
My MCE remote came with the OrigenAE case, as well as the MediaCenter Edition Certified IRTrans USB receiver. It has 45 buttons, including the green one and 4 colorful ones at the bottom. It says RC6 on the battery cover.
Here's what I did so you don't have to ask:
Installed v5
Setup --> Detailed Setup --> Commands --> Remote Control Configuration --> [select] MCE remote.
Setup --> Detailed Setup --> Advanced --> SageTV Application Package (.STV or .XML File) [select] SageTV3.xml from C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3
The IRTrans receiver has a nice little software bundle that can tell you what is being received so I know the corresponding commands are being interpreted correctly and some of the buttons actually do work (directional, numerical, enter) but the important ones (pause, stop, rec, FUstupidcommercialskip) do not work.
So thanks for reading this far. If you had this problem and had a forehead-smacking revelation that brought you the solution, don't feel ashamed to post. I'm stupider than you cuz I _still_ can't figure it out.

The IRTrans usb receiver is NOT the same as the MCE receiver. If you were to plugin a MCE receiver it would work fine.

gplasky is correct, they are 2 different critters.

Go to www.irtrans.de for support on the reciever that comes with the OrigenAE. FWIW, I believe that the Soundgraph (sp?) reciever that comes with the Uneed cases is also MCE "certified", but it too is very different from the run of the mill MCE reciever which is what Sage supports natively.

Thanks, Guys. I guess that means I'm stuck with Girder for a while longer.
