I'd love to see Sage Client on this!

http://www.rokulabs.com/products/

This is a network-enabled gadget that's designed to work with HDTVs, and it uses SMB, rather than some annoying proprietary client. It can play MPEG1/2, plus it's capable of decoding ATSC transport streams.

The biggest news is that it's extensible, and will have an SDK available by the end of this year. It'd be great to have the Sage program guide and scheduling stuff on it. Greater still would be support for time-shifting (trick play).

Since it doesn't physically have a place or support for a DVD drive, $500 for strictly a TV client is a little on the high side. I can put together a small PC with DVD drive support for about the same cost. Other than that I like how they built-in support for HDTV. Just my 2 cents.

I'm willing to pay a bit extra for:

1. NO FANS!!!
2. No other spinny bits (hard drives, etc)
3. Very good looks
4. Versatility of output
5. Integrated user interface

It would also be VERY nice to be able to use something like this as a SageTV Client:

xbox and the Hauppauge MVP are capable of running, or do run linux. It seems like a lot of people could be made happy by creating a linux version.
