Sage Search - Remote Options?

Hello - I notice that when searching by title Sage shows a numeric keypad and you have to press the same button several times and the number 1 is the worst of all where you have to press the button 20 times to get a number 1. Isn't there some kind of option in setup where you can just have a normal keyboard on the screen that you scroll through and select the characters? It's certainly more intuitive and although it might be slower. At the least, perhaps a choice? Is there something like that in Setup that I may have missed. It also provides for a more consistent interface considering Germsage has the keyboard with the IMDB.

(edited: when searching by description, Sage displays a keyboard. This interface is not consistent and I would prefer to be able to select one or the other for all the searches when scheduling recordings.)

Thanks,
Mike

NTE usage is discussed starting on p. 184 of the v4.1 manual. It happens to be at that location because it also covers the NTE configuration options in Detailed Setup -> Customize, where you can customize NTE all you want.

Use the Pause command to toggle NTE through the 3 modes it now has: upper case, lower case, off.

There is even an NTE toggle icon in the menu header bar now as a reminder of what the Pause command does & you can click on that icon w/the mouse to toggle the mode.

Here's something interesting - last night I wanted to do a search and the title had numbers in but there were only letters I could select. Is there a way to display both letters and numbers? Otherwise, does one have to hit the pause key to type numbers? I'd like a keyboard displayed with both.

Thanks,
Mike

Another question - it seems that the numeric text input is faster than keyboard; would most of you agree? However, I did put the #1 at the beginning rather than end of the line. Either way, if space allows, I think it would be nice to have an alphanumeric keypad as an alternate.

Thanks,
Mike

Most remotes include a number pad (or NTE wouldn't be much use anyway), so when the alphabet button layout is shown with NTE turned off & you want to enter a number... just press the number on the remote. (Or is that not what you were trying to do?)

Gosh - now why didn't I think of that?

Thanks again,
