Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote?

I don't know if this is new or not but I just ran across this remote. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x...te/default.htm Don't need the Xbox functionality but since Sage is now natively supporting the MCE remote/receiver this remote for those like me with an MCE remote/receiver who want to control the TV power and volume too, this has promise (or at least another option). Hope to get one the weekend. I don't know if it makes a difference which MCE receiver (2004/2005) or not. Anybody here use one of these?

You need to get an MCE IR receiver which happens to include an MCE remote --> http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_inf...emote-controls

Mine's enroute for delivery You can program the MCE remote for other functions ... search thegreenbutton for details ... and buy the spendy swank remote later

I've got an integrated MCE reciever so I'm set. What MAY be better about this MS remote (vs the remote in your link) is that since Sage now natively supports the MCE remote functions (except, it appears, how to wake Sage ) its universal too so can fully control the TV if not using Sage. I think some of the other MCE 2005 remotes can control TV vol and pwr but I believe that's it.

I'm using a Harmony remote, not the model you are talking about, but I have configured it on their website to do MCE functions, and it works fine. I'm still using the Girder interface and the modified driver for the MCE remote, but it does work.

The Harmony remote also has high WAF, you want to watch a DVD, select Watch a DVD, you want to watch TV, select Watch TV, etc. It takes a bit of setting up, but once you've got it going, you'll like it.
