Once you get the bubbles working then I don't think the green highlighting will be an issue.

Don't worry about it, I appreciate all the feedback

As for the bubbles not showing up, that's a little weird. I'd go ahead and re-download and re-install the full version and see if that fixes it.

This little gem is hidden way in the middle of the install page. I should make it more findable

If you have cygwin installed on your system, more likely than not you are going to run into a .dll conflict.

To handle this, do a search for all of the cygwin .dll files in the ‘perl2dvd’ folder and if you already have a copy, delete the one in your perl2dvd folder.

If you still have trouble after that, it means your cygwin .dll’s are out of date and you should just be able to replace yours with the newer versions from my .zip. (Be sure and back yours up in case anything goes wrong!)

No, this one's on me. I forgot I had installed Cygwin last year for a project at work and so I skipped that part of the instructions - saw it but skipped it . . .

Thanks for your help and for a great import.

Mom's reporting a problem, seems she had a 10GB, 3 1/2 hour show that she kicked off last night. When she burned the DVD it cut off like the last minutes or so.

I had her check the source recording and it is not cut off. Any other way to troubleshoot the problem?

Go ahead and get the dvdList.x.qdvd.log file from that burn and email it to the address i'm PMing you. That should have all of the info I need to see what the problem is.

Another possiblity to check is that the file is split into two separate recordings Show-Title-1232546-0.mpg and Show-Title-1232546-1.mpg. Sage would play the full video without any problems, however, my script would only catch the first one.

It is only one mpg file. I e-mailed you the log.

Thanks.

Question Multiple PC installation problem

Do you have any picture showing which programs access which files? I am trying to set up one PC to do all the work but the SageTV pc is used to select which shows to send to get transcoded and burned on the other machine. I think I'm getting lost in the relative references.
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/imag...s/confused.gif

For example...the SageTV pc creates the .qdvd and log file. The log file goes away after a few minutes but nothing happens. I checked in both files and they reference the tv show location as seen by the sagetv pc not the burner/transcoder. So, I edited those files manually the log file disappears but nothing happens.

Thanks

np, no unreasonable requests will be denied... unless I'm feeling extra lazy

Oh yeah, and, BUG!!!

1.3 has a huge bug where I'm fairly sure everything will transcode, even if it should be demux/remux-ed (I left in an extra ']'). I'll have a 1.3.1 out by tonight with that and a few other improvements.

Bug: I am not getting the colored bubbles, and I get the following errors in the Application log:

20060629052415 0:01 0.000 3408 png.c ReadPNGImage 2740 FileOpen Error Unable to open file (C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\perl2DVD\finished.png)

20060629052415 0:01 0.031 3408 command.c CompositeImageCommand 2492 Option Error Missing an image filename

I get the similar errors for processing.png and queued.png.

Not sure if this is related to the bug you mentioned, but it is not because of missing files in the download, I compared the files I downloaded to the current download and all of the files with the same size and date are there.

Request: I am itching to get a pre-processing option in the prefs for videoredo.

It should be pretty easy to implement since you are passing the .mpg path and filename to your other processes already. All that I need is the following command to be put in the batch file or the perl script to run before the transoding or muxing/de-muxing occurs.

cscript //nologo "c:\Program Files\VideoReDoPlus\vp.vbs" "<Path and filename of VPRJ file>" "<Path and filename of MPG>" /t1 /q

Actually, you don't have to spend any time on this. I was looking at your perl script and the language looks surprisingly similar to kixtart which I am somewhat fluent in. I will work on adding this to your script for myself, and PM you the changes.

Thanks for all of your work.

Sorry, I'm not ignoring your request, I just need to finish working on a few more bugs before I can get to that. It won't be hard to add and I will definitely get it in for the next version(~v1.4). That being said, your more than welcome to play with the script, that's why I include it

No worries, you have plenty to work on. I just get anxious. In reality you will probably finish adding it before I figure out how to add it, but at least I will have something to keep me busy. Plus I might pick up a few perl skills in the meantime.

Here's a great online perl reference to keep you busy

Burn some DVD's while your burning some burgers

6/30/06 v1.3.1
* add2dvdq now names files based off of the title/episode of the video. If you are doing a multi-video dvd, then it names it with the title/epsisode of the last video and the total number of videos on the DVD in ()
* Fixed a bug where every video was failing the test DVD
* Removed readable chars from advanced preference file as the qdvd file name is being set when it is created
* Added a way to detect image burn failures so that I will NOT delete the burn button or dvd image
* Added an option to explicitly set full privilages to the dvd image for the group "Everyone". This is important if you are burning images over a network and imgBurn can't delete them.
* Fixed a bug if your qdvd file's name contained any special regex characters, the folder safty check would always fail.
* Modified the wording of the burn import buttons to make them clearer.
* If there are any problems with this build its probably with add2dvdq.exe, which I haven't tested enough. I've included the previous version in case people need to revert it.

I wanted to get this out before the long weekend to fix some major bugs with 1.3. I won't be around much this weekend so don't feel bad if I don't answer any posts until monday. Have a great 4th!

Okay, I think Im tempted to try it. But, have a few questions and concerns:

I only have one SageTV machine which records and plays back TV. I'd like to know what programs require to stay in memory external to sageTV. I was hoping that everything is loaded and loaded through sageTV as needed... like when it needs to use the DVD burning engine. Does this addon require Directory Monitor to run 24/7 external to sagetv if I already have sageTV's transcoder builtin?

Thanks,
Michael
