Nvidia Codec and AR Selection
I am using the newest version of the Nvidia Purevideo Codec for multimedia playback in Sage. For some reason, when I choose 16:9 in the aspect selector. I still have the black bars on the side and the video looks the same. Anyone else have this problem?

The only real way I have been able to get rid of the black bars is to use the "fill" option in Sage. It stretches out the picture, and looks a little funny at first, but after a while, I don't really notice that I have a stretched picture.

I tried that too, but i still have the black bars on the side? Do you use the nvidia codec, and does it work for you?

Make sure you're using VMR and not overlay.

Ive tried both, but no luck. If I select the cyberlink video decoder, AR selection functions ok.

When I tried the latest version it didn't work at all.
I can't remeber what version it is I'm using but 16x9 and fill both fill the screen. I take it this is a widescreen TV? BTW, when watching 4:3 content, I don't stretch it, I use the video orbitor to iron out and image retention. It works well and you get used to it after a while. |

I have just the opposite problem. I have the same size blacks bars on the sides with all AR, fill, 4:3, 16:9, etc. They all look the same. None of them fill my TV screen. And yes, its a 51" widescreen. Maybe I should try to revert to an older version.

Make sure that the decoder is set to Anamorphic/Raw or whatever that option is called within the Nvidia control applet. Then things should work properly when you watch a 16x9 video set to "source" AR in Sage.
Further - you can set 16x9 AR in Sage to a 125% vertical stretch to watch 16x9 recordings without borders all the way around when you have recorded a 16x9 show with your 4:3 capture card ( I do this with HD shows that I record via my PVR-250 all the time). |

Try switching from full screen to window, then back again. I had the same problem, and doing that seemed to work.
