Filesystem couldn't be fixed

I get this error after installing everything. I'm average with CLI and know how to poke around a little. I did what it asked for when I get the error. Although it does ask to type in the root password or hit control D to reboot. Poked around and found some people mentioning it happening in the Gentoo distro (which I know this is based on) and that the guy with the issue has decided to accept that he may have a bad HD. However, I installed Fedora 5 on this same HD the other day with no issue. What am I missing?

Some obvious things to look at would be caps lock, spelling errors and the like. Have you attempted to install a second time?

loodpreh,

I'm getting the exact same issue. I'm installing on a P4 2.8 GHz with a 200 GB SATA hard drive. It's a brand new hard drive, so I can't imagine that it's bad. Are you getting a bunch of errors during the Linux/Sage setup itself? I'm seeing a few errors in regards to sourcing files from the CD, but it does complete. And yes, the CD is good...

I'm wondering if I either have a bad controller or CD drive? Tried re-installing Windows after the Linux failures and was getting errors and eventual crashes there too in regards to missing files that I know are there...

My experiences have not been great thus far...

After removing my foot from my mouth, I am happy to report that I did indeed have a bad CD. All is well now.
