The easiest way to go about this is to use the automatic aspect ratio switcher which is an add on to the standard interface you can get - go check out the sticky post in the customization section of the forum - there's a post at the top that lists all the customizations you can get.
The aspect ration switcher is a very handy item - I record both standard and HD material and watch it primarily on a 16x9 plasma so forcing aspect ratio switches is a nice item to have.

As an addon to this thread:
After playing around with Sage (months ago) i was able to tweak the aspect rating settings so that i can playback 4:3 content on HD chans (16:9) with no blackblar, however i cannot get it to zoom in enough when theres black-barred 16:9 content on HD chans. This happens during Conan O'brien, its widescreen but not hi-def, and i can only zoom in about halfway, then even changing the height or width settings it just stops zooming in anymore Anyone know a solution? |
