4.1.11 & 12 and Nova-t
I've moved from using SBDArecorder which worked, to trying to use the native support for DVB-T (a Nova-T) in Sagetv 4.
The board is working - using the Hauppauge applications and also as a preview in SBDAR, however in trying to set it up in Sagetv I get nothing, black screen & a no signal message! Should I see a channel when I've selected the source and Sage tells me it's going to preview? I don't! but I didn't think this surprising as no channels have been set up. I'm grabbing the RT data and using XMLTVPlugin, the EPG data is in Sage Ok To try and simplify this I've created a .frq with only two channels, BBC1 & 2 using the information from ScanChannelsBDA. (Transmitter: Sutton Coldfield UK) I must have missed something here but I can't see it. Thanks in anticipation pb |

I think you will have to set the correct frequencies for SageTV to find the channels.
Have a look in this thread: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ad.php?t=15681

Ok thanks, I've tried with both 634166 and 634000 as the frequency, with the same result - no signal.
This is my 'cut down' .frq #DVBT channel setup table ver 1.0, country: total_channel:2 #("BBC ONE" Ch:1 634000 8 4165 0 1 #("BBC TWO" Ch:2 634000 8 4229 0 1 I'll be interested to see what yours looks like. Is the sequence to create the source in Sage and then edit the .frq? Are you using a Nova-t? I'm starting to think this was a bad choice of card. Thanks again paul |

Create the FRQ.
Create the source in SageTV, *don't* tune. Apply your lineup. Disable all channels but the two you're testing. Map those two channels to their numbers in the FRQ file. BTW, I had some failures with the rounded frequencies, I'd re-add the 166 to them.

I'm sorry to say I've just run through that and still 'no signal' with the frequency as 634166, and only two channels enabled remapped to the .frq channel numbers (the channel numbers present as 95 and 105 from Radio Times)
I've tried the source set up in many ways now, selecting Cable and Broadcast to no avail. One thing I did notice was an error log from XMLTV - as follows (Demideus version): 12-04-2006 17:52:55,211 Missing configuration: rating.BBFC.U= 12-04-2006 17:52:55,227 Missing configuration: rating.BBFC.U= 12-04-2006 17:52:55,524 Missing configuration: rating.BBFC.15= xmltv.properties (simple) as follows: configurations=xmltv.properties provider.name=DVB-T Source provider.id=1 xmltv.files=1.xml max.stars=4 max.subcategories=1 translate.category.Action=Movie translate.category.film=Movie translate.category.Comedy-drama=Movie translate.category.Sport=Sports event translate.category.Romance=Movie translate.category.Suspense=Movie translate.category.Crime drama=Movie translate.category.Romance-comedy=Movie translate.category.Science fiction=Movie However the Program Guide is populated with information for the channels! Any other ideas gratefully received - I'm beginning to think I've lost the plot. paul |

Hi,
Yes I am using the NovaT card, and as far as tuning goes I am not having to many problems, I am experiencing a little break up in the picture and although I have no problems with freeview on my TV I am putting it down to poor reception. I have attached my .frq file I hope it helps. Jason |

Thank you for the .frq it hasn't fixed the problem but will be very useful when I get this going. Can you tell me what version of the Hauppage software you are running please, I'm using the latest version from their web site - HCW21Nova-t.exe (the Nova-T is the 90002 version). I have noticed some odd interaction with Sage i.e. WinTV200 presents a blank screen, but if I close it launch Sage, close Sage and re launch WinTV I get the channels Ok - most odd. I have tried de and re installing hardware and software but no change. Thanks Paul |

I don't know if Hauppauge have different varieties of driver for the Nova-T. Basically, you need the BDA driver, not any other variant which may have installed. You could try using the Hauppauge utility to delete everything (HP drivers and apps), then use the MCE driver from here to reinstall. This will just have the MCE driver, which is the BDA driver. Then try again.
