MVP losing licence regularly

I'm finding that whenever I restart the MVP, it loses its licence and I get "TRIAL" all over everything again. A server restart generally fixes this, but it's not exactly ideal! Running 4.1.10 with an ethernet router. Anyone else seen this issue?

Are you using a licensed copy of SageTV as the server? Or is the SageTV server running in trial mode?

The server is licensed. However, it is running on a Windows Server 2003 box; not sure if that would affect anything? I know it's not a supported OS.

I too have been having problems with licensing of the MVP. I can't work out exactly what causes it but basically every now and then I get told that the MVP trial has expired.
Go and look on the sagetv server and try to enter the license code and that gives an error (don't recall what exactly, but along the lines of "Invalid code"). Remove the license and reapply it and then works OK.
In fact it seemed to be worse before I converted SageTV on the server to be run as a service. I had not run sage as a service for a long time because of poor performance many moons ago when running this way.
Since changing to service mode, I don't think I have seen the license loss problem.

Try entering the licenses while SageTV & the service are not running if you haven't done that already.

Looks like that might have done it; I stopped the MVP, stopped Sage, removed the licence, added it again, started Sage and then started the MVP and finally restarted the MVP, and it still has the licence. Thanks very much.

I experienced the same issue. I am also running Windows Server 2003. The solution above seems to have worked for me.

How do you remove the license? I know how to run sagetv.exe register, but how do you remove it?

(off to look at the manual)
