				Converting HD Recordings to Xvid

Is anybody doing this with SageTV 4.1.10 recordings? I want to see if converting my shows to Xvid would let them play on my Xbox Media Center, but haven't found any good programs that can take the HD recordings sage makes and turn them into XVID. Any suggestions/success stories?

That's strange... I've done a few with no problems. Don't think I've tried recordings from 4.1.10, but have done some from .6. Used AutoGK and it worked like a champ!

Wonder if it might have been some sort of conflict with the Sage service? I copied the file to another machine and did the conversion there, rather than on the Sage machine.

I will try AutoGK, haven't looked at that in a while. Are your files ending in .mpg format or .ts?

Mine are all .mpg's. I've had terrible luck with .ts files - not just ones from Sage but other sources too. I think most of the stream-splitting software out there is "not quite ready for prime time".

I am currently compressing with AutoGK, to see how it turns out. Thanks for the advice.
