WMV files and why Sage can't get it right

So version 2 wouldn't even play them, now in version 4, all the WMV files show up at ~xx (xx being a number). I've been a Sage user for a while, but dropping 80 bucks for one of the big features that made me upgrade kinda rubs me the wrong way. Is there a current fix or work around, or maybe even an updated version that doesn't have this problem? Thanks.

Are you saying you purchased v4? The upgrade was free (as it has always been).

Hi QuasiInsomniac,

I used to play my wmv files also within Sage, and had the same problem. There is a workaround mentioned here which worked fine for me. But this wont be an option if you are also using WMA audio files, since removing the parser class will also remove SageTV's ability to read the WMA tags ...

Hope this helps,
Dirk

Yeah, I just noticed the upgrade was free. Now I have two legal copies of Sage..... darn. As for WMA files, screw them. MP3 all the way for me. DRM is a joke and a hindrance to legal people like myself. Thanks for the help guys!

The latest beta doesn't have the problem you mentioned with WMV files.
