Help with desktop resolution and 9600xt

Hi all, I've been usuing Sage with good results for quite some time now. My problem is I recently upgraded the TV to a Phillips 32" LCD and the video card to an ATI 9600xt. I'm connecting to the TV with a DVI to HDMI cable and the drivers for the card are set to 720p. The problem is the desktop runs WAY off the screen. I've managed to get everything to fit using one of the edidted 720p drivers that is a little smaller, but then the color is screwey and the images are blurry. I can correct this in Sage using the overscan and that works fine, but I can't seem to get the Windows desktop to fit correctly - anybody have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

Try setting the resolution to the native res of the lcd screen. It is different than the HD res. I have my lcd set to 1280x768 whichis the listed native resolution for my screen.

Hey Camshaft - tried that just now, and I have a really small desktop with black bars around all 4 sides. I'm kinda new to the whole 16x9 and resolution thing, but 1360 x 768 doesn't seem all that different from 1280 x 720, but let me tel you, the diff. is drastic. Any other thoughts?

try changing the stretch or wide mode of the tv. that should get rid of the bars around the desktop.

It appears that the TV has 2 settings only when using the HDMI input - automatic and wide screen, all others are grayed out. The automatic zooms it off the screen, and wide screen put the postage stamp in the middle of the screen.
The TV is a Phillips 37PF7320A/37 - maybe sombody else here one that they have gotten to work? I suppose a Powerstrip driver is in order. Anybody know the timings?
