Pure video causing an error?
I installed trial version of Nvidia Purevideo decoder and started using it with SageTV. The picture quality was the best I have seen with Sage.
Now when I try to watch TV using Sage, I get an error and I can not watch TV. Here is the error: There was playback error in playback. Details: sage.PlaybackException:ERROR(-4,0x80040217): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. I searched these forums, and people seem to say to just change video decoder in Sage settings. Now this works for me, but I really want Purevideo to work because no other decoder I have tried even compares to Purevideo. Anyone know why it worked before and now I get this error? Ive already uninstalled both Sage and Purevideo and reinstalled. |

I had a very similar thing happening to me. I had to actually uninstall one or more of my other decoders to get it to work. It worked fine till I tried to upgrade to the latest version, then whammo! New version did not work, old version no longer worked.
Good luck... If the PureVideo didn't look as good, or I could get comparable picture quality from something else, I'd dump it since it is so picky about what else is on your system. |

Perhaps the trial version of the PureVideo decoders expired? I think they will only work for 30 days. Reinstalling doesn't give you another 30 days. That happened to me, so I ended up buying the cheapest version of the decoders from Nvidia's website.

Thats what I did. I purchased the decoder and it now works. I downloaded the trial like 2 or 3 days ago, so I am not sure what happened.
