You know - I shouldn't have called it inferior. It is just not as feature rich as SAGE. That was a bit harsh of me to say inferior. Anyway the product I got my set-up working with is GB-PVR. For a free piece of software it is brilliant.
I would prefer all the lovely extras that SAGE offers - but hey ya can't win them all. I didn't actually email SAGE technical about the channel changing issues as I am using a 3rd party plugin not an official sage feature - so I assummed that I needed to post on the forums. Anyway - there are plenty of posts about this problem ( some similar to my) most people got it working - but not all. And I think I have read through them all. Mayamanic The two Setup boxes are different but let me see if I can show you my config Cable / FTA Signal Cable / FTA Signal <a>------------------>[STB1]---------------------| Coaxial Cable Coaxial Cable | | | __________ |=<x>=|Tv Card | | | <b>----------------->[STB2]-----------------------=<y>=|_________| Where <a> = Cable source 1 using coaxial cable - carries both FTA Signal and Cable Signal <x> = TV Tuner Coaxial cable port <b> = Cable source 2 using ADSL link and networkcable. From STB2 it then uses standard RCA cable for sound & S-video for visual <y> = Video 1 connectors on TC Card (S-Video + 2 Audio RCA ports) Hope that makes it a little clearer. I, like everybody else on this site want perfection in my PVR - and would lobe to get 'goodies' of SAGE going. Happy to try again if somebody is happy to spend the time to try and walk me through this problem. By setup is like this |
