ShowAnalyzer or VideoReDo?

I am very new to cutting out commercials.
I have tried VideoReDo but haven't tried ShowAnalyzer. What is the difference?

Showanalyzer processes the Mpeg that SageTV makes (tv shows) and marks where the commercials are. There is a file made with this program that is put in the same directory as your recording directory from sagetv.

When you import your Mpeg file and Showanalyzer file into VideoRedo, the commercials are "already marked" for Videoredo to process.

Videoredo will make a new Mpeg without the commercials for you to burn to DVD.

VideoRedo and Showanalyzer are two different things but work together.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know how accurate ShowAnalyzer is?
I tried AdDetective that is in VideoReDo and it isn't very accurate.

Oh yeah, I forgot VideoRedo had the detection included in the program.
My main reason for using Showanalyzer is for the live detection of commercials while watching a recorded show in SageTV. SageTV skips the commercials when automatically when viewing recordings.

I would say showanalyzer is about 90 percent correct in detection. I'm not using the latest beta though. You can adjust the settings in the program.

There are a few channels (scifi channel) that have a lot of dark area's in some shows and may have problems there. I've not changed anything and am using the default settings. Showanalyzer is supported very well by the author and is getting better with each release.
