Problems after upgrading : Unable to delete recorded show, etc
Hi,
I upgraded from SageTv 2.2 to SageTv 4 last night. I noticed a couple of strange things. 1. After the program has been running for a while, the "favorite list" under "Manage favorites" is empty, yet it still knows "Colbert report" is one of my favorites and went on to record it. But after I watch it, I can't delete it. 2 Also the "SageTv Recordings" folder is also empty, althought I have about 7 recorded shows ( a couple of which is recorded by SageTV 4). I went to "Detailed setup", and found that the "TV recording" directory is not set. And I couldn't it set it inside the Sage. I have to restart SageTV, and everthing seems to be fine for a while. Any help would be really appreciated ! Thanks ! |

How is SageTV being run -- are you running in trial mode, have you entered a license key, or what? You installed over the top of v2, which was running perfectly fine?

I did enter the license and Sage Tv 2 is running fine

v4 uses the same license that was used for v2, so installing over the top should not cause what you are describing. You could try doing a complete uninstall & reinstall -- completely remove the SageTV install directory before reinstalling (but make a backup copy of all the data files first).
If that doesn't do anything & if I understand the description correctly, then I am only aware of one known cause: there is a bad v4 crack that someone put out which causes such things to happen. If you are not using that cracked up crack and have entered a purchased license, then contact tech support so they can try to find out what is happening. - Andy
