Question for PVR350 or Xcard users.

I know that SageTV does not display the OSD when using the video output of these two cards. But I have two questions about the exact behavior of the PVR350/Xcard video outputs....

My first question is what do you see on the video output when you bring up a SageTV fullscreen menu?

My second question is what do you see when you use a feature that would normally bring up just a partial overlay, like the recording/playback progress bar or channel identification?

I'm curious as to whether you get a blank/black screen or a frozen MPEG frame while you use the OSD. If the signal is definitively unique in some way, I could mod an AV switch to automatically switch between the HW decoder and my Videocard's SVHS output.

When the fullscreen menu is displayed, the PVR350 show a test pattern of vertical stripes.

When the partial OSD is displayed on the computer monitor over the movie, the PVR just keeps showing the movie with no OSD.

Thanks. So at least switching for fullscreen menus should be relatively easy. I'm hoping Sage2 will provide me with the means to determine OSD presense programatically, then the switching would be totally accurate and fast.

I'd also though amout some RS232 controller switcher or other scheme, but then again Sage2 will provide you with OSD on the PVR350.
