Happauge 150 works in MCE but not SageTV

On the phone with someone now who can get the 150MCE working with MCE but not SageTV. It pops up WinTV PCI as the TV tuner card, but when he selects it just a garbled screen appears.

I'll have him jump on this post to give color, in the meantime any hints?

The MCE services that use the card have been stopped? If not, SageTV won't be able to use the card.

ah, didn't even know that existed in MCE. I knew there was a reason I shouldn't do tech support for Sage

Is this the easiest path in MCE? [i don't have it so i don't know]

1) Right click on my computer
2) select Manage
3) double-click on services and applications
4) double-click on services
5) Select the Hauppauge service
6) RIght click, select properties
7) Press the stop button
8) Change Startup Type to "Disabled"

Make sure to do both 7 & 8.

I don't have it either, so your guess is probably better than mine, but I did a quick search for MCE services & found this post. If that doesn't help, then maybe someone running SageTV on MCE could chime in with more details.

This post was the key to success. I stopped both of the MCE services and Sage started working. Now if I can just get the USB-UIRT to work for control, I will be all set.

Thanks for digging out the answer.

Are you having problems with the UIRT, or is it just a "didn't have the time to get to it"?

If problems, Are you using the USB-UIRT directly with Sage, or is it via CQC->Sage?
