Ultra VNC and SageTV

Not sure what happened but I lost the SageTV UI through UltraVNC. It just shows black now. I had it working before and not sure what changed or happened nor can find the setting to change it back to the way it was. I do have the video hook driver installed. Any ideas?

Have you ever tried TightVNC ? I'm using it all the time on my headless server. It was much faster for me, and I never had the problem with the SageTV GUI disappearing ...

When I go to full screen mode using TightVNC the screen size doen't change it just puts white in the area that is not taken up by the remote screen. Is this normal or should full screen be full screen?

i think the resolutions on both the viewer and server need to be the same for the viewer to show full screen...at least that is what I have been experiencing.

Yeah, I dont't think the TightVNC server can 'upconvert' a lower resolution to the higher client resolution ... Can UltraVNC do this ? Has never been a problem for me, the 800x600 window on my 1024x768 laptop displays just fine ...

for ultravnc--my server is running at 800x600 and my laptop at 1024x 768 and my laptop cannot get the fullscreen using the UltraVNC viewer unless i change the resolutions to match...

flachbar--are you saying you can do this with TightVNC?

Nope, I was trying to say that this does not work with TightVNC. But as I said, never has been a problem for me ...

I uninstalled it (believe it's on the server, or remote machine), and all works just fine now.

I don't get full playback (frame rate limited...) while watching TV, but at least it's enough to get things setup.
