Guide and Setup and Questions
Hello - two questions -
first - A while back I tried disabling and enabling some channels in the setup. When I would do that for one tuner it would do it for several. I'm wondering if I have DirecTV and one HDTV box then how can I enable the HD channels for that box but disable it for the other STB's. Second - I can't remember the property that tells Sage to use prefer one capture tuner over another. Thanks, Mike |

A change made to one channel lineup affects any source that uses that lineup. If the lineups are different, then channels settings for one lineup do not affect the other. So, you just need to make sure both capture sources are using different lineups.
The property you are talking about is mmc/encoders/<some number>/encoder_merit. - Andy

I'm guessing by the channel lineup you are referring to what I select when I add the source such as Adelphia Cable Basic, Cable Extended, DirecTV USA, DirecTV Los Angeles, Dish Network, etc.
It would seem to me then that there is NO WAY to tell Sage that the HD STB has more available channels in the lineup than the non-HD boxes. If you ask me - that sounds like a bad feature in Sage. It seems like it would be much better if one could configure the sources to enable/disable channels for each source with the same lineup. You can see the problem here...I do not see a separate lineup for DirecTV HD channels. Thanks, Mike |
