connection options for DSL/router, Server, & MVP

Hi all, after suffering miserably with dial up for the past year I inquired and much to my surprise I found out I am elligible for DSL!! Very good news for me since I live way out in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, I am trying to think about how I am going to configure this thing to work with my server and MVP and could use some help.

My current setup: I have a server in the bedroom and an MVP in the living room. I have a switch and WAP in the living room as well. So the bedroom server is connected to the switch in the living room, and then the MVP and WAP are also connected to the same switch in the living room (but the server is physically in the bedroom).

I want to place the DSL/Router (also wireless) in the living room and move my WAP up to the bedroom to extend my wireless network. where should I put the switch? I only have one ethernet cable running between the living room and bedroom.

I was thinking: DSL/router in living room with an ethernet cable running into my bedroom. I then connect the switch to that and my server to the switch in the bedroom. WAP connected to the switch as well. I then just connect the MVP to one of the DSL/router ports.

Would this work?

I just haven't had a cable router for such a long time I'm not sure how to add the swich into the mix.

Thanks
JUC

edit: Also--the DSL/router has 4 ports built into it as well...
