Two problems with Sage
Just wanted to describe two problems I had recently with Sage.
Last night I was recording the closing ceremonies(in HD with a fusion 5 lite). I wasn't able to start watching it when it began to air, so I started watching the recording file from the beginning while it was in the process of recording. Everything was working fine until well I know the time well- 1:26:44 when the time stopped advancing but the file continued playing. I got to the next commerical and tried to advance, but it sent me back several minutes to something I just watched. The short advance and the long advance sent me to two different places, but they were the same no matter what I tried to do. I restarted the file and was only able to advance to the spot that the advance buttons would take me too--- the time was not advancing in the info bar again. This time I let it play through the commercials which was going fine. At this point I didn't want to play around with the file so I just went to watching it live through my tv tuner. I'll check the final file tonight to see if I get stuck again. Anyone have this problem ever?
The second problem may not be related to Sage but I think it is. On Thursday I was recording two shows in the 8pm hour which accidently bumped the olympics out. When the 8pm show was done on the digital tuner, I immediately started recording the Olympics from that point through the end, and walked away to do other stuff(it was the night of the ladies long program figure skating for my girlfriend).
I came home from work on Friday to check the recordings and use the computer, but it was in a semi-locked state. I wasn't able to do much of anything. I rebooted several times and it seemed like initially I was able to do stuff, but after about a minute(while stuff was still loading up) something started and hogged up resources and put me in this semi-locked up state. To make a long story short, the drive I record my shows on had a ton of errors, the main one seemed to be that one or two of the recorded Olympics files had an errors referring to crosslinked problems which I've never encountered before. I was able to recover everything on the drive except the Thursday night olympics recording, and ended up restoring my operating system from a recent backup because the CPU was running abnormally high.
Sorry for the length, if you need more details let me know.
