DVD Eject Hoses System

ok, i've been able to duplicate this a few times, and I have a feeling it has something to do with the Autoplay.

Basically what happens is if I use an application (either iMON and i've tried CD Eject Tool) to make the cd tray close (ie: put a disk in and then hit the remote) the system no longer is able to access the Drive, and furthermore explorer like is not operable. On top of that it makes this weird glitch in any application / video you are watching over and over every 5secs or so (like it is trying to mount the drive but it cant)...

Has anyone else had a similar problem, or care to try this with their system? You can get the CD Eject Tool from http://www.cd-eject-tool.com/. My system specs are in my signature below.

It only seems to do this when I use and application to CLOSE the dvd tray... If I hit the button on my drive it does just fine...

Your drive might not have the capability to understand a standard close tray command (it might not have been fully implemented by the OEM) thus making the drive freak out. I'd try it on another drive if I really wanted to find out if the drive or the program's the culprit.

If you go into my computer, right click the drive icon and click eject while the drive is open and it doesn't close then it's probably not going to work with your drive.

Well, the "Eject" command in My Computer has never worked for any drive I have ever owned with any windows version. It has always been a one way command. I just confirmed this with my other PC. I honestly don't want to deal with changing out the drive right now.

I know it's not what you want to hear but eject commands work, but when you want the drive to insert it won't do it.

I just tried the tool you're using on my NEC DVD D/L burner and it works without hosing my system -- are you using a customized IDE driver for your drives and not the MS ones?
