You might try adding your capture device (removing it first), and see if that fixes anything. That is about all I was doing, when I stopped getting that message. Either that, or reinstalling the version of Sage I had just installed (repair). I'm trying to work with support, but it's been a couple days since I sent them some error logs...

I have been able to use this card with NVIDIA and Sonic encoders with no issue. I am using FSE and VMR9 as well. The default Sage encoders have not worked for me. B

AC3Filter. Cyberlink Audio Decoder. Sage Audio Decoder Just to be clear, I CAN get video out of the FusionHDTV. When I install it as a source and select tuner, it does provide me with a video preview in source selection screen. The problem occurs when I try to use it to acutally watch live TV. This is where I get the audio compression error, and it displays nothing. For this reason I am 90% sure its an audio codec problem. I have an ATI 9800 AIW pro in the system and its works fine, as well as two network encoders (via the Mytheatre plugin) that also work great. |

Got a reply back from SageTV today, about my video problems. They sent me a file:
PsisRndr.ax and told me to place it: C:\WINDOWS\system32 and overwrite the one that is currently in there. The file sizes were pretty different, so I saved a copy of the original, as PsisRndr_OLD.ax. Keep in mind, that when I did this, something created another PsisRndr.ax (when I changed the file name, a new PsisRndr.ax magically appeared). After replacing that file, and restarting SageTV, I now have OTA HD! Not sure what that is, except it's probably related to the DX9 issue. Bad thing is, that I lost my video card about 4 minutes into the HD video working...off to buy a new video card.

Hmm. I just rebuilt my HTPC last night and added a Fusion 5 Lite. I use 4.1.3.So far everything seems to be working fine except for a minor audio glitch that resolves itself, once I pause Live TV and then unpause.
Reading this thread makes me scared though.

Oh, I don't think this had anything to do with losing my video card. I've been through 3 (this is the 4th) of them so far...won't ever by from that particular company again...even though they do have excellent customer service.

Thanks a ton for linking that file! EDIT: OK sound issues are still here. During a commercial, started dropping sound signal...it began vacillating between no signal and signal If I press "pause", all is good...for a little while. GRRRR.

Strange. I didn't get the chance to pause anything before my video card let out all the magic smoke.
But, still talking with Sage Support, and now they think there is a problem in the psisdecd.dll file, because I sent them mine, and it was fixing a problem they were having. Hopefully, we'll see something updated in the coming versions of Sage.

Yeah, I'm still getting problems. Picture just froze during the Today Show. Sound kept playing, eventually the whole system hung.
![]() I wonder if I should get in contact with support so they can have my logfiles too.

I'm going to uninstall the Fusion. No harm no foul. It would have been nice if it worked, but I can only do so much trial and error/testing. I just ordered another Vbox DTA-150. I'll relegate the Fusion 5 to my Media Portal testing box with the A180. I'll stick with the what I consider the best option for my living room HTPC and right now that is Vbox and SageTV.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents as well. Same issues almost to the "T". I see capture errors as described here about a SageTV component needing to be re-installed and also if I try to watch an HD show it will start playback and either sometimes go erratic to the point it hangs and/or the whole system will reboot. Always starts to playback OK, maybe 3 to 5 seconds of video.
Using the latest Sonic decoder for video and audio. latest beta of 4.1.8 and latest DVICO drivers from their website (which at least from my location has been down the past couple of days). In SageTV the drivers are configured as WDM as that is the only option available. FusionHDTV application will playback realtime HDTV content with no problems at all proving the HDTV card itself is working just fine. Not saying we have something configured wrong, but it seems to be more a beta issue of some sorts with certain system configurations which we all seem to have in common.

Well, hopefully it should be fixed in the next beta release. The tech. support guy I've been talking to, has fixed the issue, after requesting several files from me. He sent me the attached file, to place in the C:\...\SageTV\SageTV directory, to replace the one currently there. This is the real fix, and the file that I attached in a previous post, is not needed.
This fixed my issues, since I saved the original file that he sent me (backed it up), and then restored the old copy of the file that was originally on my system, when he sent the file linked in this post. As far as the WDM thing goes, I'm not sure, but it should probably still work that way, even if you don't have the Transport Stream option. What I did, was go back to 4.1.3, and the option of TS was still there. Once I set the tuner up once, and moved to 4.1.8, if I delete the TS tuner, I can now add it back as a TS tuner, even in 4.1.8. This file should fix the problem, however, not sure in WDM. You might want to give it a try. I'd back up your other one just in case. Close SageTV out, and rename the file with the same name, with _old after it. Then save this file in the same directory, and try it out.

I appreciate your reply and attachment. Since you posted that I have done the following:
- Tried DLL, limited success. Still freezing picture and sometimes a random reboot. - Noticed 4.1.9 was posted in the middle of testing your new DLL. I applied 4.1.9 and had the same problem. I did notice your DLL version was now standard in that release (which we expected). Still no luck on the video. - I went down to 4.1.3 to get the TS selection and then re-updated back to 4.1.9 with the TS version of the FusionHDTV capture card. Still same results. End result is YES I can see the HDTV picture (in the beginning with no problems at all) but generally 5 to 30 seconds into the pefect picture everything goes nutz. Staggered video, digital stream locks and unlocks and usually "green" screen washouts. At that point I must stop the video or fear lockups and sometimes reboots. I did go back to the FusionHDTV program itself for a little while just to make sure I did not mess anything up in the process and that program still continues to playback the live HDTV stream with no problem from the card. I wonder if I should post some logs to the support team as well. Although major improvments since 4.1.8 still something not right (at least for me).

I would recommend contacting support with your issues. It usually takes a few days to get a response, but then, if you work with them, you'll get feedback/help very often. I must have exchanged a dozen or so e-mails with them, in the last week or so (and part of that time, my video card went out, so I was stuck for 5 days waiting on that).
Hopefully, they will figure something out. But, now I fear that I may run into the same problem, because since I just setup my card again today (really for the first time), I haven't tried recording a full show yet, just a few minutes. I think I may try that out later tonight, or sometime tomorrow, since I've already changed some of my programs over to record in HD, instead of SD...would stink to get a messed up show...and have my wife mad at me.

Will-do. I think you would have seen my problem pretty quick. For me, just watching 5 to 30 seconds of any show (live or recorded) would yield the issue. For me, HD is still not useable (via SageTV at least). I will get started with tech support and see what happens. I will keep you posted.
