pvr-350 only EOF Bug fix ?

Is this bug still active in Sage4 ?
I'm using Sage 2.28 and found a way to fix my eof bug. I'm not sure if this problem still exists in Sage 4 ?

The fix comes down to changing the hcwPVRP2.sys file to an earlier version while keeping the pvr 350 windows drivers in current latest version. It fixed my eof problem!

If ppl want to try or wanna have howto's just say so. I'll be happy to explain the steps.

Some members send me a private to try the possible fix. Here is what I did.

- Install the pvr-350 inf, DLL and mpeg decoder drivers from http://www.hauppauge.tv/sup/support_pvr250-350.php (de-install previous drivers with HWclean)
- After installing 1.18.23.257, copy the hcwPVRP2.sys version 1.18.22266 from http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/softw...250350_inf.zip over the existing hcwPVRP2.sys in /windows/system32/drivers

That's it. Windows still gives me the version nr from the latest install while the sys file has changed. No more eof bug here. The recording just pauses without 99% system cpu usage.

If your willing to try this, please let us know your findings!

I've been using the PVR-350 since 3.x beta and never really have the EOF bug. It was working really well since then. I still get little nuisances like FF/RW lock ups, usually I just stop playback and resume and its fine. Once a while, I lose the UI completely. Re-enabling the UI fixes it. But as far as computer completely locking up, I no longer get that, maybe once in a long while. With the price of the MVP client so affordable and divx/xvid transcoding option, I'm planning to replace the PVR-350 setup and use the MVP. It's quieter, smaller, and less problems than the 350.

Sounds good but what advantages does 3.x (4.x even) have over 2.2 ?

in general or pertaining to the 350?

I don't know all the exact changes, but there were a few attempts since 2.2 to fix the 350's problems.

in general, there are tons of changes in 4.x compare to 2.x. HD tuner support is probably the biggest addition. Second to that would be MVP extender support along with Divx transcoding as I mentioned earlier.
