PVR-350 Good TV Out?

Hi,

In an effort to further improve my TV Out picture to my SDTV I'm thinking of picking up a PVR350 for TV out. Any Sage users have experience with this card and it's operation? I understand the picture is alot better than what you get from an nvidia/ati vid cards TVout.

I am using the PVR 350 with a PIII 800 mhz CPU this card works for me. Whats nice about the card is the decoder is on the card so it will take less resources from the CPU. However there are tradeoffs you cannot watch DVD with this card.

If I was building a PC will a older CPU like a PIII I would use this card however if I was building a newer PC with new hardware I would go with a good video card like NVIDA or ATI. Also note that this card does get hot so you must have good cooling.

From my past experience, I had stability problems like the EOF "End of File" bug. rmbu, are you seeing problems like that?

I recommend just getting a mediaMVP and running that as your client. There are stability problems that have never been addressed with the 350. It is hit or miss if you will have a setup that is solid. The mediaMVP also has a great picture.

Yes I sometimes get the EOF bug but overall it does not bother me. I only use the PC for PVR nothing else.

Thanks guys!
