FEATURE REQUEST: on-the-fly editing

Hi everyone,

I am a new SageTV user. I have appreciated customizing my TV experience with many of the contributions that you've made - thank you!

So here's what I'm interested in. I'd like to be able to mark segments of shows that I watch to be clipped.

My vision is that I'd like to have a video blog about news and politics and I'd like to post short segments to the web. The key feature is to generate start and stop control data from the remote while watching. The ultimate would be something that automatically processed this data to create clips that are then uploaded to some video-streaming host. It's the "remix" culture (a la lessig & creative commons): you can be an editor and publisher as you watch TV.

Yes, I'd like to have something like this too.

Can sageTV make a partial recording? If I press the record button and then press the stop button in say 1 minute, will SageTV make a short .mpg of that segment that I wanted to record?
