Streaming recorded shows with Orb

Just can't get it to work! Have read through various threads and it would appear others have got this working but no joy here so far.

I can stream other mpegs ok so that basic install appears to be fine. I can see ffdshow audio and video appear in the systray when I start streaming xvid and divx. No such luck with files recorded by sage.

All efforts have been while PC is logged in, can't seem to get Orb working in service mode. Have tried configuring different codecs in Orb config.

I've attached the logs from Orb in the hope someone might be able to figure out whats going on. The logs were cleared before attempting to stream so the content covers one attempt, which seems to suggest from the logs that Orb tries 3 times to stream before giving up.

Do you have a codec pack installed? That's what usually will cause you trouble and make it difficult to troubleshoot. Right now it's finding 9 installed codecs on your system but the only one it's trying to use and the one that's blowing up Orb is the mpeg2dec filter. You need to keep your codecs down to a minimum and only install what you need and intend to use.

If you have the patience, Sage has announced their "Placeshifting" feature that looks like it will do everything ORB does and more and it will be fully integrated.

There's no official work on a release date yet but based on past announcements and subsequent releases, I'm expecting it sometime this summer.

This is the strangest part... whichever codec I set in the Orb config, it still reports errors with the mpeg2dec in the logs. Also, the MS DECCheck tool says I only have two mpeg2 decoders installed on my system:

Mpeg2Dec Filter - Mpeg2DecFilter.ax - Version 1.0.0.0
NVIDIA Video Decoder - nvviddec.ax - Version 4020.185.0.0

Any ideas why Orb would list 10 filters yet DECheck only 2?

I currently spend alot of time working away in Germany (home is London) so the streaming would be particularly useful now. Wondering if I should consider getting a BTV license just for the streaming features.

Tried the windows encoder plugin as well but can't get encoder working at all on my system for some reason. Crashes using the plugin or standalone!

I had lots of problems getting orb to work. I ended up uninstalling as many codecs as possible and reinstalling new ones. The specific one that ended up being the problem for me was the elecard codec. The one that works best for me with ORB is the dscaler codec... anyway, after getting rid of elecard my system worked great. I found a lot of this stuff out mainly by reading the ORB log files and trial and error with uninstalling codecs etc...
