Keeps on going...

Keeps recording one channel, I dont want it to, im using trial version, its just eating my hdd out of its coolness of memory, how do i stop recording???

It has a big ol red dot on the channel, then i hit what it has recordered and it brings me to the channel in the current television mode, not past or futur present just like its normally running except recording it..... How do i stop and start recordings?

Right click on the screen and choose STOP. Also in Video screen options don't choose video on the menu or in the background. Choose NEVER.

Yea what part of the screen I just see alot of nonsense were should i go in and hit stop?

I see video menu options, Schedueled Display:Interleaved, Display filter: Manual Records and favorites.

Check the Video Menu Options (p. 170 in the v4.1 PDF manual) & choose Never, as Gerry mentioned.

Sge tv records whenever it wants.

I browse the channels and I hit a channel, then i notice a red dote up top right saying REC, then i go to program guide and it has a red dote on the current show. Mostly does this on every show. How do I stop recording, its eating out my hard drive. I right click the record red dot and it says, Video menu options, Scheduled display interleaved, dispaly filter maunaul record and favorites, were and how do i stop recording, i dont currently want to record anything. P.S. Just incase you ened my tuner, its the 500 hauppuge wintv. Thanks!

See above comments. Edit: If you've turned off the things mentioned above, then you can use the Stop command while watching live tv.

If you mean that you want to watch TV w/o having SageTV record the show, then you should know that SageTV always records what you watch -- that's just the way the PVR system works.

There is a section about live tv on p. 20 in the v4.1 PDF manual in your SageTV directory.

Ok I disabled it to never, but i still see rec on the top of the screen and i went from 60 gigs to 57.9 just from watching 30 minutes of tv on my happuage 500. Is it still recording? I was only watching one channel also.

explanation:

PVR cards always record to hard drive

the show you're watching? Its the recording on the hard drive, not live tv

as far as I know, you can't make it stop recording, it HAS to record to have something to display

when you close sage, it will delete the recording on your hard drive unless it's something you told it to record

the options they were telling you above were to keep it from keeping the recording and recording things based on your viewing habits
