Sage records what it wants to?
Help!! Nobody answered the other thread that someone else started so I thought I would start one of my own. SageTv version 4.1.3 will not stop recording. If you "control G" to stop it, it stops for a few seconds then just starts again. It sets itself to record programs I did not set. You cannot stop it! I do not have IR, it is set to disabled. Anybody know what wrong? It's recording 24 hours a day.

Do you have video playback turned on for the menus? Perhaps it is set to Always play either as the menu background or in the preview window? Is the mmc/encoders/<some number>/never_stop_encoding property set to true for one of your encoders?

Check your "Video Menu Options" and make sure you don't have 'Display Video on Menus' set to "Always". If it is set it to "If Active" or "Never". One way to bring the popup menu up is to press the Options button on your remote or "Excape" on the keyboard from the main menu. Or if you go to Detailed Setup > Multimedia > Video Menu Options in Setup. If that isn't it then I'll have to let someone else take a stab at it as that is all that I can think of.

Andy & Bob. I will check out your suggestions tonight. I just turned it off last night and shut down the computer. I have a theory as to what is wrong. I have been trying to get S3 suspend working on this computer. This is not easy to do, and a lot of people have problems with it. Well I finally got the computer to go into S3 and stop the fans, but I suspect that on wakeup from S3 this may be causing a problem with Sage. Not only was STV recording all the time (I think it was stuck in live TV mode), I could not connect to the computer by remote VNC. Has anyone reported a problem with STV by using S3 suspend. Regardless I could not stop STV from recording. You could stop it with the keyboard but after a few seconds it would just start up again.
