my sattelite company is going to mpeg4 and i was wondering if I will still be able to record my shows.

Yes. The actual output of the satellite converter box that goes to your Sage system (probably S-Video) won't change.

FYI, all that the MPEG-4 means is that the satellite companies will be able to transmit more channels with the satellites they have (MPEG-4 compresses better than the MPEG-2 they currently use). I've heard that MPEG-4 will be more subject to rain fade, but I don't know if that's true or not...
