2) It needs the ProDVD2Sage jar file and also gkusink's Studio tools installed to work. It's purpose is to bring DVD Profiler information into Sage with the default STV. There is an IMDB plugin that will get you that IMDB type of info. 3) Not sure how you would create "views" in Sage unless you did modifications in Studio. Gerry

I am currently using Nielm's IMDB plug-in with JREkiwi's read & write plug-in to create the properties files containing the IMDB metadata for the films in my video library. What I am really looking for is "better" interface than the standard STV offers for my films video library. I like the look of having a 2 column layout with a list of your films in 1 column and an image with basic metadata for the selected film in the other column. I haven’t really tried messing about in studio yet and I’m not sure I’d fancy my chances of modifying this plug-in or creating a new plug-in that works like I described, but I’m sure there must be a few talented folks out there who are crying out for something like this? Thanks again, Mat.

-edit Oh, the current IVL is just the import menu, the dual-collumn version does run in 6.3 but I don't know if the import works anymore, the stock STV has gone through some significant changes. |

Just found and started playing around with this plugin ... so far I think it's awesome. I've been looking for a solution to sort my video library by genre/category within the default stv.
I am wondering, however, if it's possible to have the same movie come up in different genres. For example: I Am Legend is listed as a Suspense/Thriller as the first genre and Science-Fiction as a secondary genre. It gets grouped as Suspense/Thriller because that is the first genre listed from DVD Profiler. I would like to have it listed in Suspense/Thriller and Science-Fiction within Sagetv. The plugin would have to look at all the genres that DVD Profiler creates and list it in all the categories within Sage. I hope that makes sense? If it can't be done ... oh, well. This stvi is still great. Thanks in advance for any help with this. |

Sage supports two "categories": "Category" and "SubCategory", currently the importer takes the first DVD Profiler genre and sticks it in Category, and the second in SubCategory.
Did you import the really old version, the one that replaces the stock STV's Video library? |

Well, there's the one I called 0.9 above, but it's really not IVL, it's just a DVD Profiler data importer for the stock STV (adds the import menu to the stock STV).
As for grouping by Category or Subcategory, I'm sure it's possible, but I don't think it's easy. I believe the way it is now, it fully uses built-in APIs, to sort/group/filter by both, I think it would need some custom "code". |

Hey Stanger89,
I've got a word document attached (it's in 2 parts due to file size limits) with an outline of a little project I hope you can help me with. It's in regards to the ILV stvi that replaces the current default stv library layout. Let me know if this is doable or maybe you can point me in the right direction. Who knows, maybe someone else may like the layout I'm describing and also want to use it. Thanks very much for taking a look at this. |

You know, it's actually a lot easier to get it to work in single pane view than multi-pane

Has anyone worked on a DVD Profiler to .properties converter?

I'd like to see this too (the dual-pane view). I liked the way that SageMC did it, but I ran into stability issues with Sage when running SageMC, so I'm back to the stock STV and sorting through 350 DVDs isn't as nice of a task now.

Is this compatible with the most recent version of Sage?
I can't seem to get this to work. I've tried installing into a clean STV3, but the original "Media Center / Videos" is unchanged.
Any troubleshooting advice/ |

Sounds like not, I haven't touched it in a couple years.

Any chance of looking at getting this to work with the current version of Sage? I'm using the default interface, not the MC. I really like what I see in the screenshots of your customized menus.
