I will see if I can fix that this morning. It most likely isn't linking properly so there could be other items that don't work either - don't expect that but it is possible.

Just posted an updated version. There are now two version included for the default STV the old 1.1.3 for SageTV 6.1.9 and earlier and the new version 1.1.4 that is for SageTV 6.2.4 and up. This fixes the menu bar in the FCL menu and the links to the numeric input dialogs that had a name change. If you have problems let me know.

Feature Request
Hi Bob,

Wondering if you would consider adding a time of day restriction. For instance during the day cartoon network is okay, but by night it gets a little extreme. I would like to be able to set on individual channels.

Updated SageMC version to be compatible with SageMC 6.3.4 the Default STV version has NOT changed.
  • Moved the Detailed Setup menu configuration option to the SageMC Options Extras menu
  • Old version of FCLforSageMC have been put into an archive in the STV\SageTV3 directory
  • Updated code to work with changes needed for SageMC 6.3.4 - this will NOT import into prior versions check the archive for older versions
  • new version name is FCLforSageMCv1.1.634.xml

I tried not to break anything but if you find something that works without this plugin installed and doesn't after it is installed in SageMC let me know and I will see what I can do to fix it.

Yes. Been struggling with a crashed system so have managed to waste a whole weekend but I'll see what I can do when I'm back up and working. It is possible that I missed a 6.2.10 compatibility issue. I know I need to look at the SageMC version for 6.3.4 compatibility as well. So busy week. Sorry but may be a while but will put this 2nd on my list for the week. Might even get started on it tomorrow night but doubt I will make it today.

I think I have everything fixed except I wasn't able to reproduce the exception above. Hopefully the changes will eliminate this as well. I still need to add the feature you wanted but I think I will have that done tomorrow night so hopefully by the weekend this will be working again.

Here is a version to test for the DefaultSTV that should fix the problems you posted and implement the time feature. Graphic of the setup screen below also.

Instructions on setting up restricted times:
  1. By default this sets up ALLOWED times for a channel so for instance if you set the start time to morning and the stop time to evening it will allow access to the channel all day but not at night.
  2. You have to select a channel first - when you do a green dot will appear on the channel and the times will change if it has already been setup.
  3. The times set are always inclusive at both ends.
  4. You change hours and minutes with the up and down arrows individually for hours, minutes, am/pm, start and stop times. This code was stolen from the Timed Recordings screen in SageTV.
  5. You can change "Positive" to "Negative" to change this to RESTRICTED times for a channel. This is needed because times will not go past midnight they are only valid for the current day. So you may need to enter the opposite of what you want to simulate a time that spans across midnight.
  6. Finally you set the current options with the SET button. When you do the display will change to show that it was accepted.
  7. Opps one final thing. You will be able to exit the menu while a channel is focused by pressing left or when the set or negative buttons are focused by pressing right.
If this works for you I will implement it in the SageMC version. Just let me know either way. If you have problems I will probably need the logs like you posted above.

Bob,

I can't seem to invoke the restricted times menu. If I select a channel, it has a green dot, but nothing else happens. The options menu doesn't seem to do anything for me either. Thoughts?

Have you selected a favorite channel list (Green Dot selected) in the middle panel first? I can change it so that you just select individual channels on the right pane first I suppose. But it was meant as a supplement to the existing restrictions so I had it just bring up a list of channels that exist in a specific list not all of them. In theory that gives you a smaller list. The restrictions are not limited to a specific list however so maybe I should change it! And by that I mean that if the channel is in multiple lists it will be restricted in all of them not just the one it was selected from.

Nope it is fine now that I figured out where the link is. I will set something up and let you know how it goes.. What happens if someone is viewing the station when curfew kicks in? Also, if the show is delayed or recorded, what would the impact be?

favorite lists quit working after upgrade
Phoenix Bob,
Greetings.
I really like your favorite channel list add-on. I have been using it for a while, but when I upgraded to the most recent version of Sage, the favorite Channel Lists quit working. All files are still there. Any ideas?

Actually I think it will continue to allow viewing on that channel if it is tuned to that channel and nobody changes the channel. But it may stop viewing when the new airing starts - can't say I tested this.

I didn't actually try this so I'm not sure but I suspect it will not let you watch a recording from that channel after the restricted hours.
