Trial version sagetv no video
I downloaded the 15 day trial version of sagetv to test it before I purchased it; not looking good. After setup, I load a movie and it plays in the sage window, but all I'm showing on my TV is the image of my desktop; I can here the sound coming from mt tv, just no video
I'm using a 7800GT w/vivo. I tried unistalling and reinstalling both sage and the driver for my vid card. I have the settings on my card set on dualveiw; PC LCD as 1st display device and TV as 2nd display advice. I read in the manual of sagetv that the problem might have something to do with "overlay" Do you guys see anything that I might adjust Could it be something else in my nvidia settings? I don't know if I've given enough info, but tell me and I'll provide it. |

Make the TV primary or clone the primary to the TV. I think most video cards won't like displaying TV on secondary.

Anyway, for some reason, I can't get video to play to my tv using sagetv. However, I can get video to play to my tv by making the tv the primary monitor in the settings of my vid card (7800GT) Has anyone else had this same problem? Is sagetv compatible with my card? I haven't tried the tv-in side yet, but I'm sure it wouldn't work if tv-out isn't working. I kinda want to get this matter squared away before the trial version ends; I don't want to pay for something that doesn't work with my setup. PS I'm using version 2.28 because for some reason, 4.1.3 doesn't seem to load. After I get to the last part of the setup, the little sage symbols appears and starts to rotate continously; Thats all it does. |

Sorry I wasn't clear... TV out will work to display to secondary monitor, it is just that video display using the Hardware acceleration on the video card usually only works on the primary display.
If I am wrong, there are many more people much more knowledgable than I that could answer your question. |

If you could try this let me know your results (Something *should* happen):
Set nView display setttings as "Clone" with your monitor as your primary and the TV as secondary. Go to full screen video and set the full screen device to the secondary display. Open Sage... What should happen is the TV will show the Sage interface in full screen on the TV while being windowed on your monitor. If that works then you can get it to work on your TV fine... you can try playing around to spanning the TV off to the right or left of your monitor by using DualView and throwing Sage onto your tv, but it might end up eating all your CPU time that way. I have a geforce 4 ti4200 so your card is way better than mine in terms of performance and capability. It looks like your drivers are up to date and from nVidia but try to make sure they are and are coming from nVidia directly... I'm using VMR9 and 3D Acceleration in Sage while using Sage with my monitor and TV and it works best in a cloned environment... CPU usage is way lower than on a dedicated desktop. Quote:
