Hello all,

I have a twinhan 102g dvb-s card. It came with a usb infrared receiver and a remote. I was wondering if i can or has anyone used the infrared receiver with sagetv.

Yep, I do. I mapped all the keys on the Twinhan remote to the functions I use in SageTV, then bought a Harmony 520 that I used to replace the Twinhan remote. Cheapo way of getting a universal remote that can control my receiver and my SageTV PC without having to shell out extra $$ for an IR receiver (since the Twinhan came free with my DVB-S Card....)

can you tell me how you got the twinhan ir receiver to work?
I see no options in sagetv to set it up, only for usb-irt and for other pvr's.

The Twinhan IR receiver is seen by Windows as an HID device... so it literally thinks it just a keyboard or mouse (thats why it doesn't need a driver).

So just plug it in, then from the main SageTV menu go to Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Commands and select Link Infrared / Keystroke to SageTV Command.

Now just go through the List of available SageTV actions, select one you want to map (hit enter on your keyboard) and when it asks you for what key you want to use just press the button on the Twinhan remote you want to use.

Repeat for every action / key till you run out of remote keys (32 I think.. so pick the 32 actions most important to you!)

Done!

My only gripe about this setup is that Sage commands bind the Channel Up / Down Commands with the Page Up / Page Down Commands. I would vastly have preferred if they had bound the normal "Up" "Down" (single line) to Channel up / down instead of Page Up/Down. That way you could use your up / down arrows as Channel up / down in Live TV mode and they would still function usfully in the menu system.

If anyone knows how to change it manually, I'm dying to hear how.
