Question Would someone please help me to solve closed caption problem?

I used SAPPHIRE Theatrix 550 Pro and SageTV 4.0. I followed the instruction of Appendix K and then got the C.C. option in the pop-up menu during watching TV. I chose both of CC1 and CC2 options, but non of it work. I also tried all the MPEG decoders, but the result is same.

You probably don't want to hear this, but you're most likely out of luck. The only cards that support closed caption embedding into normal MPEGs are the WinTV PVR-250 and WinTV PVR-350. If you get either one of those then you should have no problems.

But the ATI official web site note that the 550 support Closed captioning and Teletext.

Sure does. Doesn't change the validity of my previous post. Sorry.

SageTV does not support CC like MCE does.

Sage merely offers a way to display the PVR 250 & 305's CC. Which is a unique driver level implimentation for capturing the CC directly into the mpeg.

Unfortunately the demand for CC support is not as high as other things. Perhaps some day in the future Sage will have it's own universal CC that works with all supported cards, we can only hope.
