IR remote has lost ability to lower volume ?

IR remote has lost ability to lower volume ?

I've searched a lot of the forums and haven't seen this discussed.

My IR, which was working perfectly now seems to be adding the code for two deletes whenever I press the volume down button!

I'm using the streamzap version 2.9.6 (latest I think) with the Hauppag 500 and sage version 2.0.0.1 . on a late model XP machine. The batteries are fresh.

Any ideas as to what could have gone wrong and how to fix it?

Also I've tried to reconfigure the programable buttons on the remote using the instructions provided but the control numbers don't seem to have any effect. Any tips ?
