How to upgrade SageTv?

What is the upgrade path for SageTv software? I have version 4.1.3.67 and I read from another post that at least version 4.1.5 is available maybe a higher one. Is there a live update ability? Do you have to uninstall and download the new version and install it all over again?

It's pretty safe to do an install over the top. It is good practice to backup the sage.properties and wiz.bin file to another directory though.

So where do you download it from. The Sage website where it says buy version V4? Is there not a users section where we can download updates?

There is a beta forum where the betas are listed w/links to downloads -- check the main forum index. My sig lines have a link too, but the beta forum has info about the beta.

I always simply make a complete backup of the SageTV installation directory tree before installing an update on top of an older one. Even if you don't do that, the latest versions automatically backup your wiz.bin & properties files.

I zip the top SageTV directory and then installed the new version on top it. Works so far.
