Fatal Error No Screens Found

after installing sage for linux on more than one comp. i get a fatal error: no screens found.i get this same error on all the comps. i get this error when i try to boot after i installed it from the cd. i have also tried more than one cd. anyone have any ideas? i'm running a hp vectra 1ghz 512 ram with pvr-500 card. i would like to do install method 1 (interface no media)

Do you have Nvidia video graphics? I tried loading it on my PC with VIA integrated graphics and I got the same error. I went out and bought a 3D Fusion GeForce MX4000 AGP card (54.99 at CompUSA) and reloaded and everything worked great.

Just an idea, you did not mention your graphics specs.

grey box

Thanks Will, i went and found a quadro 2 mxr card that gentoo said was compatible. i can now get passed the no screens error. but after the splash screen for sage comes up i'm left with just a grey box which i can move around with my mouse. i dont have any menus or anything just a box. please help.
