S-Video Out strange with GeForce 6200 0C
Hi all
I switched (from onboard) to a BFG GeForce (AGP) 6200 this week and have one bad issue. Everything output to the SDTV has a snake-scale-like affect. All the colors are fine, and there's no distortion....just this diamond shaped pattern, like snake skin. If I use composite-video it does not have this problem. It's the same regardless of decoder used, though I'm using Nvidia Pure Video. Output to a Pioneer 65" SDTV Sage 4.13 AMD 3000+ Barton 1GB RAM XP Home Hauppauge 250 Hauppauge 150 Is there a setting to alleviate this? Thanks |

I owuld make sure you had a quality s-video cable. If composite is OK it's probably not a setting. Also what version of nVidia video card drivers are you using? 81.98 is the latest but 82.12 beta seems to work better for output to a TV.

I'm using 81.96, so I'll give 82.12 a go.
The S-Video cable(s) I'm using have been used with other cards, etc. with no issues, so it would seem they're not the problem. Thanks for your time Gerry. |

This doesn't sound like a problem I've heard before... I would give BFG tech support a call and see if they've heard of it.

Wheemer. May do that. I've downloaded but not installed the Beta yet, as work got in the way. Will try tomorrow, then give Tech support a call if not better.
Thanks for the reply. |

Update:
I found that even though I was using S-Video, Nvidia was showing composite as the line used. I found where to set S-Video and it greatly improved. However, I goofed up and had to redo everything, from scratch. Problem. I can't find that setting now for S-Video, within Nvidia proerties. Does anyone know where it is? I have dual display, TV and LCD, with TV set as primary. Argh! Thanks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edit: Never mind. I found it. Last edited by Pinan; 01-25-2006 at 11:41 PM. |
